Swiss Tourist Attacked In Pattaya

A Swiss man was was left a bloody mess when he was attacked by the owner of a motorbike after he turned off the engine because it was annoying him.

55-year-old Adreas Lechne told local reporters he stopped to buy a late night snack at a street stall in the early hours of Sunday morning and became irritated by an motorbike parked close to him with its engine idling.





Soon after he switched it off the owner approached and hit him before riding down a side soi only to return a short time later with a wooden stick that he used to set about the busy-body before fleeing the scene.

Rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation bandaged up the gash to his head while police took a statement and a description of his attacker.

Thai media report police will check CCTV from the area in a bid to identify the owner of the motorbike.

UPDATE: CCTV footage of what led to the attack has surfaced.
