CHON BURI - A camera caught dramatic footage of a black Mazda chasing a hit-and-run white Honda for about a kilometre until the vehicle stopped in the middle of a Pattaya alley on Tuesday night.
"The Honda sedan hit a motorcycle and dragged it a long way. I don't know how the biker is doing," the Mazda driver who witnessed the accident said as the video played.
In the footage, the pursuer repeatedly honks his horn and shouts at bystanders to help stop the sedan, which is seen dragging a motorcycle under its front bumper.
The chase lasted over a minute and then the pursued driver stopped his car in the middle of Soi Nernplubwan, but remained in the vehicle.
People in the area immediately surrounded the Honda and told the driver to turn off the engine.
"Don't hurt the (hit-and-run) driver. Let the police do their job. The driver appears drunk," the Mazda driver told the crowd.
The surrounded driver was taken into police custody.
Facebook user Phanuwat Peenasa, the person who posted the video, wrote that police charged the man with hit-and-run and drink-driving.
